"I didn't realize how much tension I was holding."
"I keep returning to this."
Guided meditations and visualizations are offered by telephone to give you a quick, convenient, accessible way let go of tension and fit contemplative practice into your busy life. Sessions are generally 15-20 minutes long.
These short sessions are perfect for beginners or those to want to restart a meditation practice or add some variety to their current practice.
- Instant stress relief that you can turn to again and again
- Calm your body, quiet your mind, listen to your spirit
- Short and accessible – no travel required, no daily commitment
- If you miss a call, you can access it later
- Get on (or back on) a spiritual path, simply, easily and without disrupting the rest of your life.
While the benefits of meditative practice are cumulative, every bit counts. Even 20 minutes once a week can help to reduce your stress level. Start where you are - you don't need to be a yogi or monk meditating hours a day to benefit from meditation.
What is Guided Meditation and Visualization?
Guided meditations and visualizations use the spoken word to focus and anchor your mind. While silent meditation can be wonderful and beneficial, many people find it hard to sit still and quiet their minds in silence. Guided practice gives your mind a focus so that it can let go of multi-tasking, to-do lists, and thoughts of the past or future for a few minutes and experience the peace of the present moment.
Each session starts with a conscious relaxation of the body and slowing of the breath. It then moves into a deeper relaxation of the body and mind, contemplation of a question or reading, or visualization of a scene. Visualization is just using your imagination to envision a place of peace or wisdom - like daydreaming, but with a purpose.
The best way to understand these practices is to experience them.
