"I get too caught up in my emotions and feelings."
"I start the day at peace, but then lose it all by lunchtime - or

always trust myself..."

Are you looking for a greater sense of direction and peace?
God is right here, in the middle
of our muddles.
Using the book
Inner Compass by Margaret Silf as the
basis of our discussions, we will explore (in Silf's words):
how to become increasingly sensitive to God's
action in our lives
how to discover and live true to the very
deepest desires within us
how to make decisions that reflect God's
indwelling presence in the innermost freedom of our hearts
how to join our lives consciously with the life
group will move at a
leisurely summer pace, with two weeks between
sessions to allow for time to process, integrate, and practice.
There will only be about 40 pages of
reading every two weeks. The concepts are few but powerful, and
the accountability and support of the group will help us keep our
attention on our intentions, and deepen our engagement with the
Schedule (all sessions are 6:30-8:00 pm)

Who is this for?
Anyone looking for a greater sense of direction and peace, and a greater
sense of connection to her best self and to God. While grounded in
the Christian tradition, this class is open to all who seek the Holy
One, by whatever name, and who are willing to let others explore at
their own pace and as they are guided.
What will the sessions be like? Some discussion of the book, some
guided contemplation, some inner reflection.
Something of a cross between a prayer group, a wisdom circle and a book
Where are the classes held? The classes are
co-sponsored by and will be held at The Sophia Center for Spirituality,
which is housed at The First Congregational Church at the corner of
Front and Main Streets in Binghamton, New York. The facility has free parking
and is handicapped accessible.
The Sophia Center is an ecumenical and interfaith place for all
people seeking support on their spiritual journey.

What if I can't make all the sessions?
